Prayer Requests

• The Perspectives Course on World Missions Movement is in it's 6th week. Pray that when the time is appropriate that I might be able to cast a vision for "Welcoming" as part of the lifestyle of a World Christian and that some folks may become active in welcoming the stranger to our country,
• Global Life Church and International Friends co-sponsored a Super Bowl Party at a member's home and it was attended by about 35 internationals. Some watched the game while others played table games or sang around the piano. We explained the game and had lots of food. It was enjoyed by all. While this doesn't seem very spiritual, social times like this seem to bond people to our group and say "you're welcome here!"  Evangelism and Discipleship are processes, not events. Pray that this event will serve to help people know they are welcome and cared for in our groups.
• Pray for a new round of fund development for Craig & Shirley. We need to raise about $500. per month in new support and work to raise $5,000. to cover our deficit for this year. Pray for energy, setting aside time to do this, and for us to find favor in the sight of potential new donors.
• Our first Friday Night Seekers Bible Discussion was very well attended. Standing room only. Pray for new students to join the group and for the four small group Bible discussions being held. Pray for questions to be answered and for God's Spirit to move folks toward Christ.
• We start English Conversation Groups, Easy English Classes and Friday Night Bible discussions this week. Pray for good attendance.
• Pray for students, pastoral staff, community members taking the Perspectives Course on the World Christian Movement which meet every Tuesday night from 6 - 9 pm. Pray that some may receive a heart to minister to international students right here in Columbia.  Information is at http://www.perspectives.org/columbia-mo
• Global Life Church has committed to doing a "Inn at Bethlehem" Dinner Theater on December 18 & 19 right after finals end. Pray for members to volunteer for the 14 roles in the play, for us to be an inviting church and for 100 to attend the dinner theater. Update: Over 120+ people came to our church for this play over two nights. The acting was great, the food was great, and people experienced what it might have been like on Christmas eve 2000+ years ago. We had Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and Atheists hear about God's love revealed on that night.
• We had 16 kids at Awana Club last night. Pray for 1-2 new volunteers to help us with the growing numbers. Pray for kids to integrate God's Word into their daily lives.
• Thank God for another international who has prayed to receive Christ through a weekly Bible discussion.  So far, that makes 6 for this academic year.
• Thank God for a woman from China who prayed to receive Christ last week after our Friday Bible discussions. Pray for her to grow in Christ. Ask God to give us 25 new Christians this coming year!
• Pray for Global Life Church to attract more families with kids. We have a great team of children's workers that are being under utilized
• A reporter for the Columbia Tribune is writing a story about International Friends and Global Life Church coming out Saturday, May 16. Pray for the story to accurately represent the ministry and to be glorifying to God. • Continue to join us in praying for 25 new Christians to come out of our minisrty this year.
